hiccups

So....we're a bit behind on the blog posts.....it has not all been smooth sailing since our arrival in Rome. Lack of internet access being the main reason why you haven't heard from us for a while, but sorting out other basic necessities such as showering and accommodation taking priority.....

In a manner typically Italian, nothing was quite as expected upon our arrival. Our apartment beautiful....but not quite finished....the floors laid and the ikea kitchen installed the day before our arrival. No hot water nor gas for cooking and the builders still on site daily.....

A quick purchase of a kettle and at least a japanese style shower was to be had, with us all heading to Porgie and Fede's for a 'proper shower' and veges for dinner to give the kids a break from pizza and pasta every second day. Thank you Porgs! What would we have done without you? It did mean we saw lots of our gorgeous cousins!

Next step was to sort out the internet so that we could rent a car, sort out the out of town accommodation etc.....not so easy. Two weeks in and we're finally on line. Luckily the weather was wonderful and there were lots of lovely things to see in Rome...
